Doreen Rosenthal is the Principal Investigator of Project i in Melbourne. Doreen is Professor of Women’s Health and Director of the Key Centre for Women’s Health in Society at The University of Melbourne. She is a developmental psychologist and an international expert in the field of adolescent sexuality. For the past 12 years, she has been involved in a program of research on adolescent risk-taking and HIV/AIDS. Her interests include gender and the social construction of sexuality. Professor Rosenthal was made an Officer in the Order of Australia in 2003 and is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia. From 1995 until 1999 she was Deputy Chair of the Australian National Council on AIDS and Related Diseases and Chair of its Education Sub-committee, and has been a member of the Victorian Ministerial Advisory Committee on AIDS and Deputy Chair of its Education Sub-Committee.

Shelley Mallett is the Research Director of Project i in Melbourne. She has worked for over 10 years in the homelessness sector as both a residential youth worker and as a counselor/mediator with young people who are newly homeless, or at risk of homelessness. She is an Anthroplogist with interests in public policy and practice around health, housing and homelessness, public health and feminist theory.

Deb Keys is a Research Fellow on the project. She has a background in sociology and her interests include: sexuality and identity, young people, drug and alcohol use, sexual health and public health policy and practice. She is currently researching young people's access to accommodation services.

Paul Myers has worked as a Research Officer on the project. He has a background in psychology, mental health, research and behavioural therapy. His roles on the project have included: quantitative research, ethics management, report writing, literature reviews and collaborative writing of research articles. He is currently undertaking a PhD with Project i on homeless young people and Hepatitis C. Paul is also working part time on the evaluation of a collaborative intervention program for newly homeless young people at risk of Hepatitis C.

The Project i Team is committed to consultation with homeless young people, policy makers, service providers and researchers. Research findings will be presented in reports, publications, at conferences and developed into resource materials.
